Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: July 6, 2026
PureFlow Lab (pureflowlab.com) is an independently owned and operated publication. This page explains how we earn revenue and how affiliate relationships affect (and don’t affect) the content on this site.
We Are Reader-Supported
When you buy a product through a link on this site, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you click our link or go to the merchant directly. The commission comes out of the merchant’s marketing budget, not your pocket.
Amazon Associates Disclosure
PureFlow Lab is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
When you click a link to Amazon on this site and make any qualifying purchase within the cookie window (currently 24 hours for most products), Amazon may pay us a percentage of the sale price. This applies whether or not you buy the specific product we linked to — if you click our link and then buy something else on Amazon within the cookie window, we may earn commission on that purchase too.
Other Affiliate Programs
Amazon Associates is currently the only affiliate program PureFlow Lab participates in. As the site grows, we may join affiliate programs with other water-treatment retailers and manufacturers. If we do, we’ll update this disclosure — and any affiliate link on this site will always be governed by the same rule: when you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, the merchant may pay us a commission at no additional cost to you.
How Affiliate Links Are Marked
Every page on PureFlow Lab that contains affiliate links includes a clear disclosure statement at the top of the page indicating that the content is reader-supported and may contain affiliate links. We also indicate affiliate relationships in close proximity to recommendation language wherever possible, in compliance with FTC Endorsement Guides.
How Affiliate Revenue Affects Our Recommendations
The short answer: it doesn’t. We research and write every guide before adding affiliate links. Our recommendations are based on which product is actually best for the reader’s situation, not which product pays us the most.
That said, transparency matters. Here’s what affiliate revenue does affect:
Which products we link to in roundups. When two equally-recommendable products exist and one has an affiliate program while the other doesn’t, we link to both, but the affiliated product gets the buy button. The non-affiliated product gets a plain text mention. We still recommend it; we just can’t earn a commission on it.
Which products we test. Affiliate revenue is what allows us to buy products for first-hand testing. A product we can’t generate any revenue around is less likely to get tested simply because the economics don’t work.
Our ability to keep publishing. Affiliate commissions are how we keep the lights on, pay for hosting, and (eventually) pay writers and editors to expand the site. Without affiliate revenue, this site wouldn’t exist.
What Affiliate Revenue Does NOT Affect
The recommendation itself. A higher-commission product never gets recommended over a better product for the reader.
Honesty about product weaknesses. We don’t hide flaws in products we earn commission on. Every guide includes honest tradeoffs and what each product is not good for.
Coverage decisions. We cover products based on what readers are actually shopping for, not based on which manufacturers pay best.
Your Choices
You’re under no obligation to use our affiliate links. If you’d prefer to buy a product we recommend somewhere else, please do — the recommendation still stands. The content on this site exists to help you make a better water-treatment purchase, period. If that means you buy somewhere else entirely, we’re glad the guide helped.
Questions?
If you have any questions about our affiliate relationships, our editorial process, or how a particular product made it into one of our guides, contact us at contact@pureflowlab.com. We’ll answer honestly.
